Read large numbers in groups of hundreds. The grouping order in English is as follows from most to least:

trillion
billion
million
thousand
hundred
tens

In British English, include 'and' between the hundred and the tens. In American English, do not use 'and' between the hundred and tens. Notice that hundred, thousand, etc. is NOT followed by an 's'.

British English

Example:

Thousands

The remaining examples use American English.

Example:

The gross margin on the same store sales is expected to exceed $999,000.

Millions

234,700,000 - two hundred AND thirty-four million seven hundred thousand

American English

Example:

The bank and affiliated company were worth $536,000,000 all together.

Current market value is at least $5,750,000.
