'However', 'nevertheless', and 'nonetheless' connect two sentences and show an unexpected result to what has been stated in the preceding sentence. 'However' is the most common of these expressions, whereas 'nevertheless' and 'nonetheless' are more formal are generally used in written English.

Example:

Nevertheless

Example:

Nevertheless, if we don't take account of all production factors we will not be successful.

Nevertheless, if the production index slips that is a key indicator.

Nonetheless

Example:

Nonetheless, we are going to continue manufacturing inflammable blankets.

Nonetheless, we are going to press ahead with our plans for innovation.
